On the Dies Natalis we will travel through 70 years of ISS history, focusing on how the buildings which have housed ISS have typified and shaped the nature of the institution and are a reflection of the changing thinking about development cooperation.

The International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) is an international graduate school of policy-oriented critical social science. It brings together students and teachers from the Global South and the North in a European environment.

Established in 1952 as the International Institute of Social Studies by Dutch universities and the Netherlands Ministry of Education it does research, teaching and public service in the field of development studies and international cooperation. ISS located in The Hague: 'The World’s Legal Capital'. Since 2009 ISS is part of Erasmus University Rotterdam.
